Known as Millennials are the generation of people born between 1981 and 1995. As noted in this study prefer mostly the style of the mid-twentieth century. The generation of those born between 1946 and 1964 is known as the"Baby Boom". They are people who usually live with preference in houses near the countryside and therefore prefer the rustic styles. "Stylistically these homes have a more traditional feel and a lot more space, creating a perfect backdrop for classic furniture,"says the study's author.

Interestingly the generation Z, those born between 1994 and 2010, coincides in their preference for the rustic style with the baby boomers. It is not so rare, by age they can be children of these and therefore they have been raised in the environment decorated by their parents. "We're seeing a resurgence in the popularity of classic styles, but in layers, with an informal twist,"says Wood.
